The contrast in this photo is messed up like whoa. the color balance is a lot better in person (ie, it’s not that much lighter on the top compared to how dark it is on bottom)
I’d say it’s coming along pretty well. Now that the hard part (gluing feathers) is about 99% done, the rest of it should move a little faster. more importantly, the last day of classes is next week, sooo… crunch crunch D:

I just realized looking at the photo that her head seems to small. blaaaaaar. fgsfds.
the painting still needs some refinement but as you can see I’ve started attaching feathers. 
the end of the semester is coming up blazingly fast and I’m running out of time. oops. 
thankfully, the instructor has said that quality is more important than quantity. all the same, I’m going to try and make time to complete this and one other painting as prescribed by the syllabus. uh… after Thanksgiving.
something simple. it’s kind of an exercise in color theory, creating atmosphere with a limited selection of colors. something doesn’t need to be complex to carry weight. ということだ.
I can’t really explain this without possibly (?) spoiling parts of the series, but let’s just say that the reasons why episode 13 of Claymore completes me are probably all the wrong ones.
I really think that the song “You Complete Me” would be the best song ever to use in a Claymore AMV.

I’ve been watching Claymore, which is an anime series about hot blonde chicks with huge swords. Okay, it’s less superficial than that, but at least that much made me feel like drawing Trin. at some point I forgot how to paint figures in Painter (not that I completely knew in the first place). Oh well. D:

I apologize for the spotty updates lately, I’ve been busy and not particularly inspired… updates probably won’t happen much this coming weekend either since I’ve got work.

I’ve decided to clothe her a little bit more modestly than in the sketch. her clothing will be the warning labels/side effects, printed on some kind of paper that I’m going to dye or paint (like watercolor or something). she’s also going to have wings. I haven’t yet decided how I’m going to create them (either with paint or with some kind of collaged material etc). I’d also like to add some kind of jewelry-type embellishments but I’m not sure if I can reasonably collect the kinds of things I’d like to use for it without breaking the bank (I don’t want to use anything plastic or cheesy). we do have a stud gun for student use, but then I’d still have to buy studs. D:
anyway, it’s fun stuff.
